Workshop: 'Physical Processes in Natural Waters 2019' in Yichang, China

The 22nd 'Physical Processes in Natural Waters' workshop was held in Yichang, China, next to the Three Gorges dam, on 9-14 September 2019. The organising institutes of this year's workshop were China Three Gorges University and Hubei University of Technology.

The PPNW is a yearly workshop that brings together physicists, oceanographers, limnologists, hydrologists, engineers and others to discuss the physics of inland and coastal water bodies and the biogeochemical processes in them. This year, the main focus was on the physics of freshwaters in light of a global environmental change. The PPNW is a yearly workshop that brings together physicists, oceanographers, limnologists, hydrologists, engineers and others to discuss the physics of inland and coastal water bodies and the biogeochemical processes in them. Acad. prof. Timo Vesala, Doc. Ivan Mammarella and PhD student Aki Vähä from the micrometeorology group attended the workshop this year. In total, the number of participants was about 50. The small size of the workshop enables for the participants numerous possibilities to discuss their research with other attendees and to build connections with researchers from around the world.
