Visit

Welcome to the Viikki Arboretum, where living collections inspire visitors to appreciate and learn about trees.

The Arboretum is easily accessible from all directions by public transportation, car, cycling or walking. Everyone is welcome to visit the Viikki Arboretum at any time, admission is free.

We encourage you to explore the paths and discover trees and shrubs from all over the world. The names of the trees can be found on small plaques, and more information about the species is available on the Collections page. You are welcome to collect fallen leaves, acorns, cones etc. from the ground, but please don’t pick anything from the plants. Do not climb the trees.

Motor vehicles are not allowed on the grounds (except service). If you are cycling, please respect the enjoyment and safety of other visitors and adapt your speed accordingly. Also, help us to protect our plant collections and natural areas and cycle on gravel roads only. Bikes are not allowed on paths as they are reserved for visitors to study trees, birds and natural environment. Also off-road biking leads to erosion and tree root damage.

Visitors may picnic anywhere on the grounds. There are a limited number of picnic tables located throughout the Arboretum. Leave the Arboretum unspoiled and pick up your trash and dispose it in trash bins. Notice that there is no potable water available at the Arboretum. Making an open fire is prohibited.

Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Owners are responsible for removal and disposal of their dogs’ wastes.

Enjoy your time in the Viikki Arboretum!
