Specialisation programme in clinical mental health psychology

Specialist training in psychology is university-level professional specialisation education completed after graduating with a master’s degree. The University of Helsinki carries the national responsibility for the Specialisation Programme in Clinical Mental Health Psychology (70 credits), which is organised in cooperation with the national Psykonet university network.

The three-year training, which is completed alongside work, is targeted at people who work in the field of psychiatry or mental health work and who wish to develop themselves into specialists in clinical mental health psychology. During the diverse training, you will develop your professional identity as a clinical mental health psychologist and your special expertise in the core areas of the field, including assessment, consultation and intervention skills relating to the treatment and prevention of mental disorders.

Our mission

Skilled and competent specialists in psychology who are enthusiastic about their work provide and develop high-quality mental health services.
