Optional study modules

Options to specialize in Russian, Eurasian and Eastern European Studies.

The Aleksanteri Institute offers several Optional Study Modules for all students of University of Helsinki organized by the Master's Programme in Russian, Eurasian and Eastern European Studies. In addition to East Central European, Southeast European and Baltic Studies and Ukrainian Studies listed below there are varying modules to choose from every year.  

Aleksanteri Institute is also a coordinator of Expertise in Russian and Eastern European Studies, ExpREES, a non-degree programme that brings together Master's level courses available at the network of 12 Finnish universities. You can embed the ExpREES module into the MA degree granted by your home university. During its more than 20 years of existence, the ExpREES has seen hundreds of students graduate and build a career in academia, politics, the public sector and business.

If you wish to specialize in East Central European, Southeast European and Baltic Studies or Ukrainian Studies, this is also possible at graduate level.
