Learning, Culture and Interventions

The Learning, Culture and Interventions (LECI) research community aims to maintain and promote high-quality educational research with national and international impact. Our research focuses on learning, culture and interventions across the life span as well as teaching and public engagement based on it.

LECI brings together the faculty’s research and teaching staff and visiting scholars, who are interested in human and community activities, learning and development as part of their cultures. Researchers in the LECI research community apply and further develop, for example, sociocultural and cultural approaches, cultural-historical activity theory, practice-based research, and research on pedagogical practices. We apply and develop a range of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods. The research conducted in LECI uses theories and methods that transcend discipline boundaries, including anthropology, psychology, sociology, media research, philosophy, applied linguistics, and cultural studies. The community comprises several research groups working in the faculty.
