Our group seeks to understand how forest structure and the understory microclimate respond to global changes. We use a modern Terrestrial Laser Scanner to obtain high-resolution 3D forest images and microclimate dataloggers to measure air and soil temperature as well as soil moisture. In partnership with local collaborators, we have conducted several projects in the Brazilian Amazon, Malaysian Borneo and in the Eastern Arc Mountains of Kenya. Read below the details of our projects and research questions. Please do get in touch if you have more questions or would like to collaborate with us!
