Tree-D lab

The Tree-D Lab is a research group in the Department of Geosciences and Geography at the University of Helsinki. Founded recently in 2019, our group conduct basic and applied ecological research in terrestrial ecosystems to investigate how forests will respond to future changes. We are interested in understanding the interactions between forests, climate, human activities and fauna. Our research applies the most advanced geospatial technologies, including state-of-the-art terrestrial laser scanners, spaceborne remote sensing and field-based microclimate measurements.
