The Radiochemistry Unit is part of the University of Helsinki's Department of Chemistry. It is the largest University-based radiochemistry research and education facility in Finland, and home to approximately 40 radiochemistry researchers. Our research includes blue skies investigations and applied research that helps to address needs in the nuclear industry, radiopharmacy, environmental science, and analytical chemistry. Our research forms part of the Department of Chemistry's wider "Molecular Science" research programme.
The Radiochemistry Unit is also a key provider of radiochemistry education and training in Finland and Europe. The unit is home to a wide range of PhD students, and our staff teach Undergraduate and Masters level radiochemistry. Students at the University of Helsinki can also study for a EuroMaster in "Nuclear- and Radio-chemistry" at the Radiochemistry Unit.
