Dr Ulla Buchert's project examines how third sector organizations construct immigrancy, multiculturalism, and equality in their activities and services for older individuals. The research focuses on the challenges and reform needs faced by health and social services due to the increasing diversity of older people, such as differences in Finnish and Swedish language skills, cultural and religious backgrounds, educational backgrounds, family models, and working life histories. The subproject contributes to the understanding of how third sector organizations address the needs of diverse older populations and provides insights into necessary reforms for promoting equality and recognition of immigrant older adults in society.
