The Mattila lab is affiliated to Metastem, the Academy of Finland funded Centre of Excellence in Stem Cell Metabolism. Metastem was established at 2018 by the groups of Pekka Katajisto, Timo Otonkoski, Henna Tyynismaa and Ville Hietakangas. Currently it provides a unique collaborative platform studying stem cell function in different models, such as in the fruit fly and in organoid cultures.
