The Finnish Candidates Survey (FCS) is directed to candidates nominated for parliamentary elections. The survey is a part of an international project called The Comparative Candidates Survey. FCS has been conducted in Finland since the parliamentary election in 2007. PI of the FCS is Åsa von Schoultz (since 2011). The 2019 FCS will be collected within the framework of IntraComp project and in collaboration with Elina Kestilä-Kekkonen, Professor of Political Science (acting) at the University of Turku.
The survey focuses on the relationships between the candidate, the party and the voters. Campaigning is a major topic, but other domains like recruitment, carrier patterns, issues and ideology, democracy and representation are also covered.
