The main objective of IntraComp is to study decision-making, electoral competition within parties and the mechanisms that make certain types of candidates successful at the electoral arena. In order to understand intraparty competition the project will analyse the strategies of parties, when nominating candidates, of candidates when competing for votes, and of voters when deciding for which candidate to vote. IntraComp is funded by the Academy of Finland for the period 2018-2023 and is led by Åsa von Schoultz, Professor of Political Science at the University of Helsinki.
