Researchers focusing on this theme study innovation in food systems, focusing on the management and performance of both organizational innovations (structural and procedural innovations within and between organizations, such as innovations in business audits for environmental standards, innovation in alliance models) and focusing on information sharing and communication in food systems (information sharing as a function of proximity metrics, information sharing as part of the capacity to process, adapt and transfer new knowledge, i.e. absorptive capacity; communication strategies with respect to sustainability and sustainability standards). Our researchers also study the prominence of technology in igniting sustainable change in the organization of business practices.
