Research interests include acid sulphate soils, processes of soil formation and fertility assessment of agricultural soils. Major activities during the last few years have included projects and supervision of doctoral students in Ethiopia.

Professor Emerita. Research Director. Expert in soil and sediment chemistry, especially in reaction mechanisms and cycling of nutrients and detrimental elements. Special interests are selenium and its antioxidative and growth-promoting effects in plants as well as the utilization of industrial by-products in the environment protection.
