The DigIT research group aims at understanding changes of work and learning by drawing on different practice-based methodologies with specific focus on activity theory and pragmatism. We are interested in approaches where different kinds of tools and artefacts support human activities. Qualitative methods are stressed in relation to practice-based methodologies.  In our previous projects we have worked as researchers in the field of building information modelling (BIM).

The description of our current and previous projects can be found below.

Extended reality (XR, also know as cross-reality) covers all forms of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality. This research project focuses on change in organization of work through specific social and material characteristics of XR from the perspective of adult education.

The aim of this project is  understanding the practicalities behind digitalization in the field of higher education from the perspective of work research. Academic work as an illustration of knowledge work is undergoing major changes. The focus of the project is the role of digitalization in these processes. We are studying digitalized activities on various levels of a whole faculty: administration, teachers, researchers, students, external stakeholders.
