• Course collaboration on Online Politics and Governance
  This global course collaboration develops student skills of critical global citizenship within a shared international classroom to navigate a world of transnational challenges.

The global format and subject of the course collaboration support the needs of students to grasp a multi-centred world where uneven globalization, environmental instability, and social media continuously transform the politics and governance of cultural diversity, social inequality, power and access to informed knowledge. This crossing of global identities requires students to step beyond their own cultural contexts in the challenging, but supportive, online learning environments of the course design where a sense of co-presence, -questioning and -engagement in each other’s learning and different perspectives is fostered.

Collaboration partners 2010 and onwards: University of Technology Sydney (2010, 2013), Monash University (2010, 2013), Auckland University of Technology (2016), University of Canterbury (UC) (2016-), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) (2019-), University of Helsinki.

Interdisciplinary courses of collaboration: ”Politics of Online Communication” (UH: Political Science, Public Administration, Communication), “Politics and New Media” (UC: Communication, Journalism, Media studies), “Global Perspectives on Politics and Policy” (NTU: Global Affairs, Political Science, Policy studies).

• The thematic syllabus on leadership
  The goal of the thematic syllabus on leadership is to provide students with broad multidisciplinary research based perspective on different leadership based phenomenon and characteristics.The thematic syllabus is organized in cooperation with 8 different educational programs as well as the Open University at the University of Helsinki. The syllabus includes courses related to gender-, ethical-, as well as collaborative and strategic leadership in different settings thereby enabling the application of leadership knowledge in different situations and settings.

• The thematic syllabus on Good Governance
  The thematic syllabus on Good Governance provides the student with a broad understanding of the legal and administrative premises for good governance, knowledge of the processes and practices for good governance and skills for assessing consequences of specific mechanisms and practices.
