WWA also acts as an important research unit. During recent years the archives have been the locus of several international and national research projects on the editing of Wittgenstein’s posthumous publications and the philosophy and life of Georg Henrik von Wright. Another area of interest is the digitizing of the humanities. The archives have organized several conferences and seminars on these research topics both in Finland and abroad. The archives also co-organizes the almost weekly convening von Wright and Wittgenstein seminar with the Swedish language philosophy unit at the University of Helsinki.
