I am an Associate Professor of Neuropsychology at the Department of Psychology and Logopedics, a Senior scientist at the Cognitive Brain Research Unit (CBRU), and the Group leader of the Music, Ageing and Rehabilitation Team (MART). My research focuses on the psychological and neural mechanisms of language and music and their neurological deficits (aphasia and amusia) and the effects of musical activities and music-based rehabilitation methods in ageing and in different neurological illnesses. Currently, I lead a large ERC-funded project where we study singing in normal ageing and in aphasia and music-evoked emotions and memories in Alzheimer’s disease.
