I am a university lecturer and docent, working in the crop sciences group of the department of Agricultural Sciences. My research focuses on grain legumes and particularly on faba bean (härkäpapu). I have projects on genomics, genetics, breeding and phenotyping of this crop and other projects on agronomy, quality and environmental impacts of it along with other grain legumes. Research money comes from the European Union (H2020 and ERANET projects), the Academy of Finland and various Foundations (säätiöt). My teaching covers crop quality, many aspects of legume agronomy and environmental impacts, along with scientific writing. I am director of the AGFOREE doctoral programme (2020-2021).
