USP minor stud­ies for stu­dents of Aalto Uni­versity

Are you a student from the Aalto University? Would you like to do transdisciplinary minor studies within the Master's Programme in Urban Studies & Planning? These studies give you an opportunity to work your way towards becoming a professional capable of understanding and addressing complex urban development challenges. The application period is open from May 15th to May 31st, 2018.

The structure of the USP minor studies for the students of the Aalto University consists of elective studies (15-25 ECTS): 

  • Urban social studies (5 ECTS)
  • Urban and planning history (5 ECTS)
  • Designing for urban governance and services (5 ECTS)
  • Transnational spaces of planning and politics (5 ECTS)
  • Planning Theory and Urban Studies (5 + 5 ECTS)
  • Urban economics (5 ECTS)
  • Urban transitions and futures (5 ECTS) 
  • Urban ecosystems ecology (5 ECTS)
  • Complex adaptive systems (5 ECTS)
  • Green urban systems (5 ECTS)
  • Digital urban (5 ECTS)

Additionally, students can choose the following courses which may consist prerequisite studies in one or more above mentioned courses:

  • European Metropolitan Cultures (5 ECTS)
  • Urban immaterial/soft systems (5 ECTS) 
  • Urban modelling and simulation (5 ECTS)
