The HELSUS team would like to welcome HELSUS members and friends to attend a lunchtime seminar and discussion at the HELSUS Hub lounge or on Zoom (link) on the 11th of November from 11.30-13.

Prof. Lozano and Assist. Prof. Barreiro-Gen work on organisational sustainability at the University of Gävle (Sweden). They will present results from their book ‘Developing Sustainability Competences Through Pedagogical Approaches. Experiences from International Case Studies’, published in 2021 by Springer. Through a survey sent to 15 Higher Education Institutions from 12 countries, the book provides unique insights into the sustainability issues being taught, the competences being developed, the pedagogical approaches used, and how these two relate to each other. One of the cases in the book is the University of Helsinki.

The book can be freely accessed through the library of the University of Helsinki and can also be bought on the Springer website: https://www.springer.com/gp/book/9783030649647

The event will be held at the HELSUS Hub lounge (Yliopistonkatu 3, 2nd floor) and remotely via Zoom. There will be catering at the Hub with coffee, tea and lunchtime snacks (including vegan, and gluten and lactose free options).

There’s a 16-person limit in the registration for the physical event and the places are filled in the order of registration. We will send a separate confirmation email to the first 16 registered participants.
