Prof. Santos appointed Chair of the Controlled Release Society Focus Group in Nanomedicine and Nanoscale Delivery

Prof. Hélder A. Santos from the University of Helsinki, Faculty of Pharmacy, was appointed the Chair of the Controlled Release Society (CRS) Focus Group in Nanomedicine and Nanoscale Delivery at the 46th Annual Meeting in Valencia, Spain, 22-24 of July 2019

Prof. Santos was in the last two years the vice-chair of the Focus Group in Nanomedicine and Nanoscale Delivery. The Controlled Release Society (CRS) headquarters is in USA and the society has more than thousand members worldwide and is the largest in the world focused on controlled drug delivery, including 3500 scientists, academics, engineers, and industry related with the development of advanced medicine for improvement of healthcare and the current therapies. 

CRS has seven Focus Groups, including the aforementioned one Prof. Santos will be now direct with a team of other international members. Prof. Santos is the only chair representative from Finland leading such Focus Groups, which has more than 300 members at the moment.

The main tasks of the Focus Group in Nanomedicine and Nanoscale Delivery is to promote Nanomedicine in general, bringing different academic and industrial experts together to increase the visibility and the societal impact of this field of research.

Prof. Santos will work with a selected team (as shown below) during the next two years in close collaboration with the other Committees and Leadership of the CRS, and implement several scientific and social activities in the field of Nanomedicine to reach all researchers and clinicians around the world working on nanomedicines or related field.
