The course took place in Grimsel, Switzerland and objective of the 5-day workshop was to give participants an introduction to engineered barriers / bentonite requirements, properties and applications in radioactive waste topics.
Besides lectures provided by experts, workshop included visits to GTS labs to see ongoing experiments and a visit to the labs of University of Bern, Institute of Geological Sciences.
