The alternative regenerative strategy of bearded dragon unveils the key processes underlying vertebrate tooth renewal

Our manuscript recently accepted in eLIFE explores the development and regeneration of dentition using the bearded dragon as a new model system. Bearded dragon represents a valuable model for comparative research as distinct replacement strategy can be observed in different areas of the jaw in one animal. Given the current lack of appropriate models with which to address these questions, our manuscript represents an important addition to the field with the potential to stimulate significant future research efforts on dental development and regeneration. This manuscript will be of interest to all of those in the fields of dental development and regeneration, and more broadly in development and regeneration in vertebrates.
