Four-year funding from Kone Foundation

Kone Foundation has awarded 299 000 € for HURP to conduct a study called "Boundless Rat - an ecological and social study on rat movement and control".

We are happy to announce that Kone Foundation has funded Helsinki Urban Rat Project with a four-year funding, totalling 299 000 €. This funding will allow us to delve deeper into where rats move and how their movement is shaped by human control. This project will include an ecological part, aiming to track rats on individual and population-level, led by Tuomas Aivelo, a social science part exploring the means and aims of people controlling rat movements and an artistic part making human-rat encounters more concrete, led by Juha Suonpää.

We are recruiting a PhD student for this project with application deadline of January 17th.

Kone Foundation awarded this year more then 30 million euros to art and research.
