Member of CLUMP Project Aleksandra Dobrego participated in VALP5 - 5th Variation and Language Processing Conference which was held offline, for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic.
She presented results of the study on chunking across native and non-native speakers of English. The results show that in line with the notion of multi-competence, the ultimate product of natural speech comprehension does not depend on language experience, and native speakers do not have an advantage over fluent speakers in higher-level speech processes.
