Wow, time flies by! AMME celebrates its 10th Birthday! For an entire decade, AMME Seminar has been an interdisciplinary hub, inviting scholars from across the world, to discuss, question, and enhance research of the Ancient and Medieval Middle East.

The topic of our December session is “10th Anniversary Seminar: Crossing Boundaries”.

  • Saana Svärd (University of Helsinki, director of the Centre of Excellence in Ancient Near Eastern Empires): “Right Tool for the Right Job: Why Interdisciplinarity Matters”.
  • Jaakko Hämeen-Anttila (University of Edinburgh): “The Importance of Being Earnest in Interdisciplinarity: Working with Arabic, Persian, and a Bit of Greek and Akkadian”
