Apply for a grant for research on the treatment and rehabilitation of occupational diseases and traumatic injuries

1.11.2021
The application period for grants for investigating the treatment and rehabilitation of occupational diseases and traumatic injuries is open from 1 November to 15 December 2021.

Finance Finland, the Finnish Workers’ Compensation Center and the Finnish Motor Insurers’ Centre are funding impact studies on the treatment and rehabilitation of traumatic injuries and occupational diseases through the University of Helsinki’s Faculty of Medicine. In addition to such impact studies, researchers, research communities and research groups can apply for a grant for studies on factors relevant to fitness for work that stem from occupational diseases or injuries.

A working committee composed of experts assembled by the Faculty of Medicine will assess the grant applications. The dean of the Faculty will decide on the grant recipients upon the committee’s proposal in February 2022.

When deciding on the grants, the exploitation potential of the research in the treatment and rehabilitation of injuries resulting from traffic or occupational accidents will be taken into account. The research to be funded must be practical and based on a long-term approach.
