The Master’s Programme in Urban Studies and Planning has negotiated new collaborations during Spring 2018. The works of USP students will be visible in the Finnish Housing Fair and Shanghai, to begin with.

The high quality of work done by USP students have sparked interest from many directions. Here are two examples of new partnerships of which USP is very excited about!

WIEE EXPO in Shanghai

The results of the first year USP studies will be presented in an international exhibition in Shanghai in Autumn 2018 hosted by Tongji University. USP students’ field trip studies will be visible together with audio samples recorded by Aalto University’s landscape architect students in China. The Shanghai WIEE expo focuses on innovation and entrepreneurship with a commitment to common understanding, common innovating, and common sharing. Read more about the Expo here.

Housing Fair in Järkäsaari

USP Programme, together with Urban Academy, will be present in the Finnish Housing Fair in Jätkäsaari in September 2018. The fair is a new opening to complement the traditional Housing Fair concept, focusing on good urban living environments. The Jätkäsaari fair is built jointly with the City of Helsinki and involves local people, companies, communities and other partners. The fair will have 9 days of events and exhibitions and is open to all. USP Programme is planning activities by both students and staff, for example publishing first ever USP publication. Read more about Housing fair in Jätkäsaari here.

Furthermore, discussions to collaborate with the Helsinki Design Week 2018 have been started.
