The first virtual, full-scale international conference at the University of Helsinki on Teacher-Education Policy in Europe succeeded

The Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Helsinki hosted the 14th TEPE (Teacher Education Policy in Europe) annual conference 13–15 May on the theme of Sustainability and ethics in teacher education and education policy.

According to the conference team, TEPE was the first completely virtual, full-scale international conference at the University of Helsinki. The virtual implementation was not initially on the agenda, however, due to the exceptional situation caused by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The organisers, Professor Erika Löfström and Professor Hannele Niemi, made the decision not to postpone or cancel the conference under these circumstances.
