The ESB group welcomes Justine Loof!

Justine comes from France and will be doing an internship in Rose Thorogood’s group for five months

Justine is a 4th year student in a program leading to a master’s degree at the National Institute of Agriculture and Food Science called l’InstitutAgroDijon in France. Her background is mainly focused on animal production but she is also very interested on animal ecosystems and impacts of human activity on wildlife. Justine´s internship in Finland is funded with an Erasmus grant, and it will be her first international experience: a good opportunity to improve her English level and discover Finland!

Justine will be hosted by the research group Information ecology and coevolution, led by Rose Thorogood until August. Until then Justine will be working in the forests of Oulu with Teresa Abaurrea (doctoral researcher) on the effects of ectoparasite load on the begging behavior of Common redstart (Phoenicurus phoenicurus) nestlings. This experience will help her to develop new research skills and improve her knowledge of birds.
