The National Network for Developing Assessment Literacy KAARO compiles research-based knowledge acquired from Finnish and international universities on assessment literacy and its development, as well as clarifies the goals and content of strength-based assessment literacy. The network organises MOOCs and online material, assessment education and seminars for teacher students completing their pedagogical studies (pre-primary and basic education as well as general upper secondary education), teacher trainers, practising teachers and researchers. The KAARO network is a development project of teacher education supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture and carried out collaboratively by the University of Helsinki (management and coordination), Aalto University, the University of Eastern Finland, the University of Lapland, the University of Oulu and Åbo Akademi University. In addition, the network cooperates with other projects, networks and universities.
