HSK tests

The HSK test is an international standardized exam that tests and rates non-native Chinese speakers' language proficiency. The HSK test consists of two independent parts, a writing test and a speaking test.

Confucius Institute at the University of Helsinki organizes the HSK Chinese proficiency tests once a semester. You can also take the test at the University of Jyväskylä.

The HSK Writing Test is divided into six different levels: Levels 1-6

The HSK Speaking Test is divided into three levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.

The registration for the HSK writing and speaking tests takes place separately.

For more information on the test structure and levels, please see the HSK information on the chinese test website.

Confucius Institute organizes the HSK Writing Test and HSKK Speaking Test twice a year.
The tests are held at university classrooms. The Speaking test is held at the Language Lab A115 in Metsätalo (Unioninkatu 40 ). Currently you can take only paper-based test at the institute.
