The university has a wireless network, the international eduroam, which data traffic is encrypted. It can also be used by visitors as it does not require a separate visitor ID; account holders of universities in the eduroam cooperation network can use the accounts of their home organisation when logging in to eduroam.
Eduroam has good coverage at the university. You can find eduroam in almost every university property. The signal may vary in different parts of buildings. The IT Center is in charge of the wireless network and is constantly improving the signals of the network, meaning that the number of dead zones will be increasingly reduced.
For further information and instructions on the use of wireless network at the university, visit the University of Helsinki's Helpdesk site.
