Electron Microscopy Unit (EMBI) is a core facility that provides services for biological electron microscopy. We belong to the Cell and Tissue Dynamics Research Program  at the Institute of Biotechnology, and Helsinki BioImaging (HBI) research infrastructure platform of the Helsinki Institute of Life Science (HiLIFE).

We are also part of Biocenter Finland Biological imaging network, and provide nationwide technology services on advanced electron microscopy techniques. We belong to Euro-BioImaging Advanced Light Microcopy Finnish Node.

Because of the exceptional circumstances due to coronavirus, we ask everyone to note the following practices to safe use of our facility:

  • EMBI is working at full normal capacity. However, use of face masks is recommended during the training sessions.

  • Break room is reserved for EMBI staff only.

  • EMBI staff cleans equipment in shared use before use.
