The Art Room of the University of Helsinki functions as part of the Helsinki University Museum. The Art Room offers courses both for students of the University of Helsinki and to the general public.
The Art Room of the University of Helsinki is Finland's oldest public art education institution and its history stretches back to the 18th century.
In 1956, after various phases, the Art Room moved to the top floor of the Porthania facility building, where it is still located at Yliopistonkatu 3, Porthania, 7th floor. The drawing master is the visual artist Vappu Rossi.
