Directions and accessibility

The Helsinki University Museum Flame venues are located in the city centre: close to the Senate Square and on Tähtitorninvuori.

Our new exhibition centre is situated in the University of Helsinki Main Building, at the corner of Yliopistonkatu and Fabianinkatu streets.

Street address: Fabianinkatu 33, 1st floor, Helsinki. Location on the map. Please note: On Saturdays access from Yliopistonkatu 2.

Public transport: Trams 2, 4, 5 and 7 (the Senate Square stop), metro (the University of Helsinki stop).

Accessible entrance: From Fabianinkatu (on Saturdays from Yliopistonkatu).

 

Observatory

Observatory is situated at the southern end of Unioninkatu, on Kopernikuksentie. The Observatory sits in the middle of Tähtitorninvuori park.

Street address: Kopernikuksentie 1, Helsinki. Location on the map.

Public transport: Trams 10 (the Johanneksenkirkko/St John’s Church stop) and 2 (the Eteläranta stop).

Accessible entrance to the floor for exhibitions and booked venues (unfortunately there is no accessible entrance to the towers or the planetarium) through the red garden gate on the west side of the building (the red arrow in the map). Please press A1 (or call +358 50 3185 764) to activate the gate phone and open the gate.  

NB! Thank you for not using shoes with studs in the Observatory because of the old floors!

Art Room

The Art Room is located on the top floor of the Porthania building, with a view of the city rooftops.

Public transport: Metro (the University of Helsinki stop), trams 2, 4, 5 and 7 (Aleksanterinkatu and the Senate Square stops).

Accessible entrance: From Yliopistonkatu.
