Helsinki University Library offers a wide range of job and internship opportunities for a variety of professionals. The library also offers placement for civilian service.

Apprenticeship and Education Contract Positions

Helsinki University Library does not offer apprenticeship and education contract positions.

Non-military Service

Helsinki University Library annually offers service positions to four conscripts eligible for non-military service.

Internships Included in Studies

The library annually offers internship positions to university students focusing on library science. The announcement for summer internship positions is published on the university's website in January. 
Interns have the opportunity to develop the library's services together with the library's experts and to get acquainted with the multifaceted operations of the university library. 
Additionally, tasks include participation in the library's customer service. The duration of the internship is 3 months.

For library and information science students at universities of applied sciences, there is one annual placement available for a 3-6 month internship during the autumn term. 
The intern's tasks focus on customer service and collection work at the library. Furthermore, the internship may include other tasks according to the intern's skills and interests.

Workplace Introduction (TET)

All spring 2024 TET internship positions have been filled. Inquiries for TET positions for the fall term of 2024 can be made. 

We offer 1-2 positions per semester for students participating in workplace introduction (TET). The tasks of the TET internship will take place mainly at our main library, the Kaisa House, and include mainly customer service at the library and tasks supporting the collections.
