Campus Library services will resume on Monday August 17, 2020 in the Viikki Pop-up Library on the fourth floor of Info Centre Korona.
During the summer 2020 services will be provided from the Main Library at Kaisa House. Viikki collections has been culled, consolidated and moved during the spring, and some of the Viikki resources has been permanently relocated to the Main Library at Kaisa House.

Customer profiles cannot be accessed and no loans or reservations made during the service break in Helka, beginning July 16, 2020, as the library changes the library service platform. The service break lasts for a few weeks and ends in early August. Electronic resources are available during the break.

There might be some inaccuracies in the holding information for our books even before the service break, because the Helka cannot be properly updated from June 18. For example, a textbook might be avilable, even if Helka says that all copies are borrowed or that the book is ordered, but have not arrived yet. Double check on the shelf, or call the library’s customer service.
Viikki Campus Library and the public library in Viikki will have joint temporary premises on the fourth floor of Info Centre Korona. Viikki Pop-up Library will be open to the users of both libraries until the actual facilities are completed in summer 2021.
Campus Library services will resume in the Pop-up Library in August 2020.
The public library in Viikki will open its services at the Viikki Pop-up Library on Monday, June 22, 2020. The services of the City Library are open in summer Mon – Fri 12–18. The entrance is just a few steps from the old entrance at Viikinkaari 11 B.
As of Thursday, April 30, you get long-term loans on material from the Viikki Campus Library.
Due date will be no earlier than August 12, 2020, when you borrow or renew your loans
Book collections based on the classification used have been placed in a more compact manner in an area on the fourth floor. Publication series, journals and textbooks are also placed on the fourth floor. Some of the journals as well as theses, dissertations and the special collection have been moved to Kaisa House.
Location information for all material can be found in the Helka database.
Between November 30, 2020 and January 31, 2021 you can order books from Viikki Campus Library collections to be picked up at Kaisa House by making a normal reservation for the book in the Helka database. When you receive an email notification from Helka, the book can be picked up as a self-service from the reservation pick-up area on the entrance floor of the Kaisa House (3rd floor). The 3rd floor of Kaisa House is open, the rest of the floors are closed.

The Viikki return box cannot be used during the campus library’s summer break. You can return books to Kaisa House, and outside opening hours, you can use the overnight return machine on Fabianinkatu. Books can also be returned to the Kumpula Campus Library return box during the spring and summer.
The 24h reading room closed in May 2020. As such, the reading room will not be in use even after the renovation of the Info Centre.
If you still have a key card to the 24h reading room, you can return it to the campus library's customer service. After filling out the invoice form at the customer service desk, the library will refund the deposit to your account.
The library’s facility redesign project is connected to a larger University of Helsinki repair and remodelling project, during which Info Centre Korona will be comprehensively transformed. The renovations at Korona will be carried out in two stages:
The aim of Helsinki University Library is to create a diverse and flexible learning environment in cooperation with the public library in Viikki. The renewed facilities will be opened on the first, second and third floors of Info Centre Korona in autumn 2021 at the earliest.
