Current special exhibition: Tension in the Air

What is the common history of humankind and electricity like? This exhibition sheds light on the discoveries and inventions that have contributed to establishing electromagnetism as part of our daily lives.

The collections of the Helsinki University Museum include an extensive array of teaching aids, known as the Cabinet of Physics, that were used in the teaching of physics in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The exhibition features teaching aids which helped demonstrate electromagnetic phenomena.

The exhibition was mounted in collaboration between the Helsinki Observatory, the Finnish Association of Electrical Safety (STEK) and the Finnish Museum of Natural History.

The exhibition will continue until 19.11.2017.
