Marco Lovati holds a PhD in Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Trento, Italy and a Master’s Degree in in Architectural Engineering at the University of Pavia, Italy. From 2017 to 2019, Lovati has been working as a package leader in the Energy Matching project, which was part of the Horizon2020 program. In the project, his design methods were applied to the design of three photovoltaic systems integrated as part of the retrofit of 3 buildings and districts in different European countries, the systems are now under construction. Upon moving in the University of Dalarna, Sweden, Lovati focused on the future business models for collectively owned (peer-to-peer) shared photovoltaic systems at district level using agent-based modelling. Lovati’s current research interests include shedding light on the financial and economic instruments to realize an optimally designed building integrated photovoltaic system.
