Support studies, education and research at the Swedish School of Social Science.
The School was established in 1943 to train social workers and administrative officials for the Swedish-speaking and bilingual municipalities in Finland. From these beginnings, the School has become the institution it is today: a modern, dynamic Swedish-speaking university unit which provides education in various fields of social science and actively generates high-quality research with a particular focus on issues of welfare, identity, media, citizenship and the environment.
The Nordic connection is strong and is apparent in all of the School’s functions, and its efforts to be a leading Nordic institution boosts the whole University's bilingual competence and its standing as a top Nordic university.
