Professor of Sociology since 1995, attached to NOVA (currrently Oslo Metropolitan University) as Head of Research (2006-15), and as Institute Director (2016-2017). Currently leading/doing research on comparative Nordic and European welfare, disability, transition youth/early adulthood, employers' role in inclusion, and sustainable welfare. Leader of NCoE Welfare REASSESS (NordForsk 2007-12), EU FP7 DISCIT project on Active citizenship for persons with disabilities (2013-16), & EU H2020 NEGOTIATE on preventing short- & long-term consequences of early job inesecurity (2015-18). Directs two projects funded by the Research Council of Norway; Sustainable European Welfare Societies and HIRE - employers' inclusive practices. Co-chair, European Social Policy Analysis Network (ESPAnet).
Pauli Kettunen is Professor of Political History in the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Helsinki. He was the director of the Nordic Centre of Excellence NordWel (The Nordic Welfare State - Historical Foundations and Future Challenges, 2007-2014). Kettunen is Honorary Professor in Welfare State Research at the University of Southern Denmark. He has published widely on the Nordic welfare states and industrial relations, social movements, nationalism and globalization. His edited books include, e.g. Beyond Welfare State Models - Transnational Historical Perspectives to Social Policy (2011, co-edited with Klaus Petersen), Race, Ethnicity and Welfare States: an American Dilemma? (2015, co-edited Sonya Michel and Klaus Petersen), Reshaping Welfare Institutions in China and the Nordic Countries (2015, co-edited with Stein Kuhnle and Yuan Ren, also in Chinese), and The Nordic Welfare Model - Still Sustainable? (2017, co-edited with Stein Kuhnle, Yoko Otsuka and Klaus Petersen, in Japanese).
Marta Soler-Gallart, Harvard PhD, is professor at the University of Barcelona and the director of CREA (Community of Research on Excellence for All). She has been the main researcher of the H2020 project “SOLIDUS”, analysing solidarity actions during the crises in Europe (See Link: https://solidush2020.eu/). One of her recent publications is the book "Achieving social impact: Sociology in the Public Sphere" (Springer, 2017). She is the Vice-president of the European Sociological Association, and serves at the Governing Board of the European Alliance for Social Sciences and Humanities.
