Master level

There are many ways to specialise in Russian and Eastern European Studies. The Aleksanteri Institute is a coordinator of ExpREES, an expert programme that brings together graduate-level courses available at the network of 12 Finnish universities. You can embed the ExpREES module into the MA degree granted by your home university. During its 20 years of existence, the ExpREES has seen hundreds of students graduate and build a career in academia, politics, the public sector and business. A more recent option is the International Master's Programme in Russian Studies, launched at the University of Helsinki in 2018. This programme is provided entirely in English.

If you wish to specialise in East Central European, Balkan and Baltic Studies or Ukrainian Studies, this is also possible at graduate level.
